Use Plans to track your company's progress to the metrics that matter.
Contextualizing your metrics within a plan is critical to measuring success. For select metrics, SaaSGrid offers a planning tool to help track progress to a plan.
To create a metrics plan, navigate to the Reports section on the left hand side of your workspace in SaaSGrid. Click on + to create a new report, and select Plan.
Plans can currently be generated for any dollar metrics (i.e. ARR, Renewals, Expenses). Select or search for a metric, create a title for the plan, and click Create to make a plan for that metric.
SaaSGrid generates a plan template for all metrics, comparing actuals to target. The diagonal of each plan indicates the actuals for that period. Each row of yellow cells indicates the target ARR for that month. Here, the original plan is filled in the first row, and plans for subsequent periods can be edited by clicking Edit in the top right corner and double-clicking directly into a yellow cell.
In the plan shown below, the first row marked Original Plan is set in January, and the plans for subsequent months are described in the rows below. By default, SaaSGrid will fill the value entered in the original plan down into future months. Each row is the plan for that period, and can be edited and changed. In the example below, note that the ARR plan for May 2024 and June 2024 is changed in March 2024, resulting in an increased ARR target.
When the actuals exceed the plan value, the period is highlighted in green. For periods when the actuals are less than the plan value, the period is highlighted in red. Note that for the row marked Actual YTD, the actuals are compared to the original plan, not the latest plan.
Additional controls on Plans include selecting customers, modifying date settings, and changing calculation settings. Plans can be filtered for a particular Attribute, or aggregated quarterly instead of monthly.
To Save a plan, click Save in the top right corner. SaaSGrid will automatically update the plan with the correct actuals. Any changes in the plan can be made by modifying any yellow cell directly.
