User Permissions

We require a user within Salesforce to authenticate the Salesforce <> SaaSGrid connection. You can use any Salesforce user within your organization that has permission to read data from Salesforce's APIs. However, we recommend creating a dedicated user and limit data access for this user only to data you want to sync. You can limit data access for a user by creating a profile in Salesforce and assigning it to the user. You will need to grant 'Read' access to the following objects:

  • Account

  • Opportunity

  • OpportunityFieldHistory

  • OpportunityHistory

  • OpportunityLineItem

  • OpportunityStage

  • Contract

  • CurrencyType

  • DatedConversionRate

  • Domain

  • RecordType

  • User

  • Product2

  • FieldDefinition

Adding Salesforce as a Linked Account

Login to SaaSGrid and navigate to Organization Data.

Navigate to the Linked Accounts tab and click +Add next to the Salesforce tile in the Link a New Account section. You can follow this flow even if you have an existing Salesforce account linked and want to authorize a new account.

Name your Account and click Create. We recommend adding a descriptive name to help identify what Salesforce account you are connecting.

You should be redirected to a Fivetran screen. Click continue.

Select Authorize. Enter your Salesforce credentials (if you aren't currently logged in) and login. You should get an Authentication Succeeded if the connection is properly authorized.

Click Save and Test. Once successfully synced, you should be redirected back to SaaSGrid. You should now see your newly connected Salesforce account show up under the Linked Accounts section. This will first show as Syncing (rather than Linked). The first sync from Salesforce will always take longer than subsequent syncs into SaaSGrid.

Adding your Salesforce Linked Account as a Workspace Data Source

Once set up as a Linked Account, you should be able to configure the Salesforce account on a Workspace by Workspace basis. Navigate to Workspace Data.

Select Configure Data on the top right and then +Add Data Source.

Select the Salesforce tile. You should see your newly configured Salesforce Linked Account on this page.
